Do you have any exercises to recommend during this time of social distancing?     


Gym closings and social distancing mandates have made it difficult to continue typical exercise routines. So what do you do? Here are some safe and fun exercise routines you can do with your pup that will keep you both safe and healthy.   

Fetch, yes that fetch. After you throw your dog’s favorite toy, go after some muscle building exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc.! This is for backyard training.   

Walking and running is still an option. Try to stay close to home and remember to wash your hands, and your dog’s paws, upon returning home. Soccer is fun for everyone involved, and you don't need too much space to play. Many breeds love chasing a soccer ball, and it’s a great way to get your heart rate up.   

Running stairs can be a great way to both burn calories and build muscle, for you and your pup. Remember not to overwork your dog; excessive panting, staggering, and refusal to follow you may be signs that they are overdoing it. Also, if you're exercising in public make sure to limit your time, keep a safe distance from others and avoid touching services and other dogs. Stay safe and healthy!
